What FoShoSho is
FoShoSho makes free CVs for domestic workers, nannies, caregivers and cleaners. A CV shows the worker's details. It can also show references from people they worked for.
What FoShoSho is not
We are not an employer, an agency or a background-check company. We do not hire workers, pay workers, or manage jobs. We connect information, not employment.
A computer does this, not a person
FoShoSho runs on WhatsApp using automated software, including artificial intelligence. Software reads the messages, pulls out the details, and puts the labels on a CV. Most of the time no person has read it.
Here is exactly what the two labels mean:
- "1 person gave a reference" — someone messaged us from their own phone and answered our questions about the worker. Software checked it. No person did.
- "1 reference checked" — a person at FoShoSho looked at it as well.
We do not phone employers. We do not visit anyone. We do not confirm that the person messaging us is who they say they are. Software can be wrong, and people can lie to software.
If you want a person to look at something on your CV, message us and ask. We will do it.
No guarantee — please read this
A reference on a CV is not a guarantee. We cannot promise that any person is safe, honest or good at their work. We cannot promise a reference is real.
If you hire someone, you must still do your own interview and your own checks. You hire at your own risk.
Rules for workers
- Give true information. A CV with false details will be removed.
- Only give references from people who really know your work.
- Your CV is free. We will never ask you to pay to be seen or ranked.
- You can ask us to hide or remove your CV at any time.
Rules for references
- Only confirm work that really happened.
- We show a simple public label, like "1 person gave a reference" — never your name or number.
- You can withdraw your reference at any time with one message.
Rules for everyone
- No fake references or fake CVs.
- No using FoShoSho to harass, threaten or spam anyone.
- No copying CVs or information to build other lists or databases.
- If you break these rules we can remove your CV or block you.
Problems and complaints
If something is wrong — a bad experience, a fake reference, unwanted contact — message us on WhatsApp. We treat every complaint seriously and we stop and review before anything else happens.
Liability
We provide FoShoSho in good faith and as it is. To the extent South African law allows, FoShoSho is not responsible for loss or damage that comes from hiring decisions, work done or not done, or contact between people who meet through a CV.
